Ch16 The Mind of A Child

Salem watched Zim fuss over her. She was greatly confused by his urgency, however she just allowed him to freak out, and she tried to help the best she could.

Now she was sitting in his lap, as he piloted. He was teaching her the controls, in which she attempted to memorize, so in future mishap, she could help drive, or at least show Dib how it was done.

She still was weary of Dib, she didn't like him at all, and hated how Zim acted when he was around. Like he had gotten shot, and was still trying to bleed out.

She crossed her tiny arms, "Zimmy?" She asked in her squeaky voice.

Zim looked down, "Yes dear?" He tried to sound as sweet as he could to her.

"Where is meat bag?" She asked, using the nickname she had given Dib.

Zim thought a moment, trying to remember, then he responded, "He and GIR are working on where we are to sleep, he's probably in the storage part of the voot."

She nodded, and sat back once again. She may hate Dib, however she was glad that he was a hard worker. She knew something was going on, and since he was a hard worker, he'd be a good help.

Just then Dib walked in, carrying a small blanket. He walked over to Zim, "Hey, do you think this is big enough for her?"

Zim looked over, then down to the hybrid, "What do you think Salem?"

Salem looked over at Dib, and said, "The blanket should do fine, meat bag."

Dib frowned, "Hey, quit that! I just want you to like me! You're being a brat!"

Salem stuck her black tongue out at him as a childish response, making Zim sigh, he knew the two would never truly get along, or if they would, it would be hard for them to admit it to each other.

Dib sighed as well, and walked back into the storage bay, however once in there Zim heard him scream loudly. The jade skinned boy quickly put the ship on auto pilot, and placed Salem in the seat. Then he ran into the storage bay, ready for a fight.
