It was now early in the morning, and Zim had been rudely awakened by the sound of a new transmission. Even if Zim did not need to sleep, he still enjoyed doing so. He grumbled Irken curses as he answered; he saluted quickly and yawned, "Hello my Tallest!"
"Hello Zim." Red looked at him curiously, "Did I wake you?"
"Well yes, but I do not require sleep. You know that." Zim pointed out, proud of himself.
"Yes well Zim, we did not get to finish our conversation earlier." Red paused, "Zim we have sent you a present. She will be staying with you until she can function on her own."
"She? What do you mean by she?" Asked Zim caught off guard.
"We are sending you a potential invader known as Arc." Red continued.
"Age group?" Asked Zim.
"Smeet." Answered Red.
Zim considered this for a moment before asking, "Her PAK?"
"It has a bug. She is indeed defective, but I think you can handle her." Red lied.
Red coughed into his fists, "Well also she will look a little like you, she is closely related."
"What does that have to do with anything?" Asked Zim wearily.
Red shrugged, deciding against telling Zim that actually Arc was his daughter. He just then smiled smugly, "She should be there with in a week."
"Is she pure Irken?" Asked Zim.
"No, she has a hint of human DNA. However that should not affect much in her progress." Answered Red honestly.
"Human DNA?" Asked Zim, he was simply amazed.
"Yes." Red sighed.
Then the transmission was cut, and Zim was left alone in the dark living room.
Zim unconsciously twirled his hair in his fingers, as the skool day wore on. He was excited by the fact that his Tallest trusted him with the duty of caring for a smeet.
He realized that meant he was a sergeant mother of the child, and probably would be called something along the lines of mama or mother. He sighed, "That will be so different."
He was talking to no one in particular, just himself. Dib seemed to overhear him, "What will be Zim?" He asked.
"Nothing." Zim paused, "I'm normal!"
"Yeah, yeah." Dib waved his hand dismissively.
Dib then sighed, "So got any plans for world domination today?"
"No, none in particular. I mean, of course ZIM does!" Zim yelled.
Dib rolled his eyes; he had noticed Zim's lack in making evil schemes with in even normal remarks lately.
Dib then smiled, knowing that his plan would be in affect after skool, and he could not wait to see Zim squirm.
Zim ran to his house, not wanting to leave his new roommate home alone, if she had arrived. He ran inside and slammed the door, to see GIR rolling around on the floor, with a tiny Irken standing beside of him grimacing.
Zim walked up and placed a foot lightly on GIR's head, which stopped his rolling. Arc looked up at him, and saluted, "Hello sir!" She said in a high voice.
She then let her arm fall to her sides in a standard army stance. She remained like that, as Zim inspected her.
"You seem very healthy, that is good." Remarked Zim.
"Yes Arc tries her best." Commented Arc, she was stiff as she stood there.
Zim sighed, "You do not have to be like that towards me. We are of same rank, so you need to relax. Consider me a friend."
Arc tilted her head, "Really?"
"Yes of course." Zim crossed his arms.
Zim then continued to inspect the small child. She had a small puff of black hair on her head, which did indicate that she was indeed part human. Her skin was a normal shade of green, which was about Zim's, and her eyes were big and bronze colored.
Zim was glad to see that she still had lekku, instead of human ears and a nose. She had four fingers on each hand, which also seemed to be a good thing. She was not too much of either species.
Zim picked her up and looked at her fondly, "But it is very nice to have you Arc."
Arc blinked her big eyes, she smiled, "Well it's good to be here mama!"
Zim knew he would get to be called a nickname by the smeet, but did not expect it this fast. He now knew that the smeet was very found of him, as he was of her.
Zim then turned to the sound of a loud and horrible bang, the front door stood wide open. He cursed under his breath, and sat Arc down.
He then went over and closed the door, growing, "Well that wasn't good."
Arc nodded, but then froze, feeling eyes on her back. She turned and gasped, which made Zim turn as well. To Zim's dismay, he saw the boy he knew once as a fake friend. He saw Keef.
